皇家隊先發投手輪值出現變化，總教練約斯特（Ned Yost）宣布，楊恩（Chris Young）的下次先發將被跳過，由季伊（Dillon Gee）取代。台灣老將王建民的角色暫時不會有變化，仍將主要擔任後援投手。
「教練都還沒有給什麼其他指示，」王建民說，「反正現在就是照平常練球。」
去年為皇家隊拿下11勝，楊恩本季開季以來表現不振，七次先發只有一次優質，六次不滿六局，防禦率高達6.68，堪薩斯媒體要他離開先發輪值的呼聲本來就很高，加上楊恩9日被洋基隊狠狠擊出五支全壘打，約斯特終於忍無可忍換人。
另一方面，楊恩的右前臂不太舒服，皇家隊安排他先回堪薩斯，11日就要進行檢查。
就目前來看，如果楊恩確實有傷，就會順理成章放上傷兵名單；就算沒傷，恐怕也要以受傷名義處理，跳過先發恐怕不是一次兩次的事，如無意外，季伊應該就此拿下輪值席位。
在皇家隊開季的投手定位中，雖然季伊與王建民都不是勝利組，但季伊是長中繼，在頂替先發的順位確實排在建仔前面；另一名傷兵邁納（Mike Minor）即將展開小聯盟復健賽，預定5月底回到輪值。
>因此，皇家隊這一波異動，王建民不受影響，角色不會改變。
